The Times has reported today that PSG midfielder, Stéphane Sessegnon, has been offered to Everton for a cut price, £8m.
David Moyes was thought to be interested in making a £15m move for the Benin international this time last year, when he travelled over the France to watch Sessegnon take part in PSG’s French League season opener at Montpellier.
Sessegnon is a big powerful player who can score goals. He netted 3 times for PSG last season, and 7 times for them the season before. He is an attacking midfield player, and could be the ideal replacement for Mikel Arteta, should the Spaniard decide to leave Goodison Park.
Everton fans will be hoping that David Moyes will be able to persuade Artea to stay, and if he manages to do so then a midfield consisting of Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar and Sessegnon could be quite formidable next season.
What’s your view? Would Sessegnon be a good signing for Everton? To help you make up your mind view the video clips of him in action below.

moyes should tell pienaar that if he does not sign in 7 days then he will be sold to the highest bidder, why is yet another everton player holding the club to ransom, he was nothing 2 years ago until moyes brought him to everton, where’s the repect gone from the game todays players are like prostitutes anyones if the cash is right
You forgot about Fellani, Rodwell, Osman, etc, …
Yeap they would certainly have some strength in depth, but Arteta and Pienaar might be on the way out…
Why exactly is he being offered cut-price?
Arteta is staying with us. I’m confident of that. Pienaar I’m not so sure about. I think that he wants to stay at Everton, but only on the condition that he gets paid as a world-class player. I don’t know that Everton have the funds to do that. And when we have Arteta, Fellaini, Cahill, Rodwell, Osman, as well as young talent coming through the ranks, we don’t need to pay Pienaar more than he’s worth just to keep him on the books. He’s good. He’s not that good.
The lad has skill no doubt about it, but he needs to halve the step-overs and double his goal output really. It looked like he had too many legs on some clips.. just run and shoot willya?. We don’t have 80p to spend anyway so it is irrelevant…but he is not a like for like swap for Arteta ….Peanuts?…yeah maybe a good replacement for him. At the end of the day all we want is more Timmys and Phil Nevilles who actually feel proud to play in a blue shirt be it good bad or indifferent…. and less Goslings who think they are something they are not …too good for EFC? …. hope you get relegated with your super new club!! ….But getting back to Sessignon ..if Moyesy thought he was worth the money we may well get him one way or another..season long loan I reckon.
Only if Arteta or Peinnar are sold. I would still not be sure if i would want to sign him though. It appears both players want to leave but Arteta accepts that the money we would want for him is beyond those clubs that want him. As for peinnar then I would let him go. It seems ridiculous that we are hanging onto a player who can leave for nothing in six months when we can make a healthy profit now.
